Australasian Cerebral Palsy and Developmental Medicine conference in Christchurch, New Zealand March 3-6th 2010

Martin Matthews presented his poster paper on the research behind the diplegic leggings at the prestigious ACPDM meeting in Christchurch. This was the first time his research work had been presented in the format used in his recently published scientific paper. Much interest has evolved from this conference resulting in martin returning to new Zealand later this year to present the DMO concept.

ISPO Tri- Annual Congress Leipzig Germany May 11th-15th 2010

DM Orthotics Ltd both exhibited and presented several papers at the four day International Society of Prosthetics & Orthotics Tri- annual congress in Leipzig, Germany in May 2010. This was the first time that the company had exhibited outside of the UK resulting in much interest in the concept internationally. The scientific papers presented included the shoulder stability orthosis, pregnancy shorts and an early introduction to the DM Active Sports groin injury treatment concept. Three members of the DM clinical team presented: Kathryn Fisher, Leanne Sawle and Martin Matthews.

During the congress DM ran an update forum for our international partners where new concepts and research was presented, pattern development discussed with the factory represented by Anna Scott and the introduction of the new training schedule.

SOSORT meeting Montreal, Canada May 20-22nd 2010

Martin Matthews represented DM at a conference on Conservative management of scoliosis in Montreal presenting the outcomes of several different pathological forms of scoliosis. The conference took place over 2 ½ days, full of 7 minute presentations on different aspects of scoliosis research and management. DM Orthotics will be in attendance at the next meeting in May 2011 in Barcelona, Spain.
