Ashleigh Harley is an award-winning film-maker, budding writer and musician. She also loves horse riding and would like to make showjumping a Paralympic sport so she can fulfil her dream of competing at that level herself.
At the age of 12 Ashleigh was diagnosed with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS), a genetic condition that can be chronically painful and cause joints to pop out of their sockets.
Ashleigh came to DM Orthotics for a made-to-measure suit, she says
They made me a full body suit that has been nothing short of life-changing, it stops my joints dislocating, stabilises my blood pressure so I don’t pass out and realigns the curvature in my spine caused by scoliosis.
Watch our video to find out more about how our Dynamic Movement Orthosis® or DMO® Suit as it’s often referred to was specially made to enable Ashleigh to live her life more easily and continue to enjoy riding. The suit is full length but sleeveless to ensure she has freedom of movement in her arms for riding.
