Using a DMO® Custom Suit to manage Scoliosis care
Find out how Chloe uses a Scoliosis Suit as part of a holistic approach to managing the condition.
“I want to do everything I can to not just manage but improve my Scoliosis, for instance, I would really like to see my right shoulder back in a normal place. I have come to believe in a holistic approach to Scoliosis management and think that a DMO® Suit can enhance that when combined with my physio and chiropractic treatments. I want to put myself in the best position possible to try and avoid problems later in life and ultimately no surgery.”
Our DMO® Custom Suit helps Luka to move more freely
Find out how Luka's Scoliosis Suit gives her greater awareness of her body and more control of it.
Luka has a condition that has yet to be diagnosed which causes muscle weakness, especially in her trunk area. The condition has led to a rare form of Neuromuscular Scoliosis, (curvature of the spine), as well as Hip Dysplasia where the hip joint is the wrong shape or the hip socket is in the wrong place. This causes greater wear and tear on the hip joint and an unusual gait.
Her mother says
“When Luka first put the suit on, she became more aware of her own body and her posture improved. The suit pulled her together giving her the extra strength she needed and over time she became more confidence and independent.”
Jakov's Scoliosis 'Superhero' Suit
Find out how our DMO® Custom Structural Scoliosis Suit helps Jakov stay active
Jakov was four when he first visited DM Orthotics in Redruth, UK. He has Scoliosis a condition where the spine twists and curves to the side caused by hypotonia the medical term for decreased muscle tone. This can often lead to a child feeling limp to hold, being clumsy or falling frequently. His mother Verdana says
“The suit improves Jakov’s posture and agility, it has made a big different to his life allowing him much greater freedom of movement and we have also noticed that he is much more confident, it has freed him to move however he likes, and he can now do whatever activity he wants.”
