One of our unique capabilities as an orthoses manufacturer is the expertise of our in-house clinical team. We have ten practising clinicians who assess, measure and prescribe patients with custom orthoses that help them manage their genetic, neurological and musculoskeletal conditions– greatly improving their quality of life.

Therefore, because of the nature of our clinicians’ roles, we would like to spotlight each member of our team to showcase their expertise.

Helen Brind

Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist

Helen is the newest member of our internal clinical team, based in Southeast England. Before joining the team, Helen had been practising as a qualified physiotherapist for over 30 years, predominantly working in the field of neurology for both children and adults.

Helen’s previous role was Deputy Director for Playskill, a charity in Hertfordshire that provides free therapeutic playgroups for children with physical disabilities– additionally providing training, advice and support for their families. Having worked with patients with their own Dynamic Movement Orthoses^® for many years, Helen performs assessments and fittings for our patients.

"My role is very diverse as we work and liaise with not only the patients or clients but with many external clinical specialists, both in the NHS and those in private practice. I’ve always enjoyed working closely with patients to try and find the best functional outcome for them.”

Helen’s been a great addition to the team, in her first year at DM Orthotics, she’s been vital in setting up two new external clinics in London and Buckinghamshire– onboarding and supporting external clinicians in how to measure, assess and prescribe the various orthoses we manufacture.
