One of our unique capabilities as an orthotic manufacturer is the expertise of our in-house clinical team. We have nine practicing clinicians who assess, measure and prescribe patients with custom orthoses that help them manage their genetic, neurological and musculoskeletal conditions– greatly improving their quality of life.

Therefore, because of the nature of our clinicians’ roles, we would like to spotlight each member of our team to showcase their expertise.

Merlin Young

Clinical Specialist Orthotist

Merlin is one of our Clinical Specialist Orthotists, who predominantly works in the North of England. Since graduating from Salford University in 2013, Merlin has worked within multiple NHS clinics across the UK and Boston Children’s Hospital. While practising as an Orthotist, Merlin gained experience and developed a keen interest in Scoliosis and Scar Management.

Since joining DM Orthotics, Merlin has been running private and NHS Clinics in the Northwest, while also offering help and support to any of the AHPs that she works closely with.

“I find being able to assess and help the patients I see to be the most rewarding aspect of my job. I also love that every day of my job can be different, one day I can be running a full clinic and another day— I can be training other AHPs to measure and assess for DMO®s.”

Recently, Merlin completed a Burns Management training course to keep her clinical knowledge up to date as well as taking part in a local meeting with other clinical specialists, hosted by the MS Society.
