One of our unique capabilities as an orthotic manufacturer is the expertise of our in-house clinical team. We have nine practicing clinicians who assess, measure and prescribe patients with custom orthoses that help them manage their genetic, neurological and musculoskeletal conditions– greatly improving their quality of life.

Therefore, because of the nature of our clinicians’ roles, we would like to spotlight each member of our team to showcase their expertise.

Sarah O'Leary

Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist

Sarah qualified as a Chartered Physiotherapist in 1999, working for the NHS in Community Paediatrics and later moving to Adult Neuro Outpatients. Sarah worked as part of a team which ran the Parkinson’s Disease Clinic, where she developed a special interest in this field. After working in the NHS, Sarah moved to a children’s charity, working with children with neurological and sensory difficulties, developing home activity programmes and helping them with hydrotherapy sessions.

“While working at a children's charity, I discovered DM Orthotics’ products and I was so impressed I contacted the company, and in a serendipitous moment, I took on a role as a Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist.”

At DM Orthotics, Sarah covers the Southwest of England and the Republic of Ireland, assessing, measuring and prescribing Dynamic Movement Orthoses® (DMO) for the NHS, HSE and private patients of all ages. Sarah also attends exhibitions and conferences on behalf of DM Orthotics to demonstrate and promote our products, educating patients and other clinicians about the benefits our orthoses can offer. Additionally, Sarah helps train and educate external clinicians in the process of prescribing DMOs to their patients.

Since joining the team in 2012, Sarah has had the privilege of working with many different patients with a variety of conditions and is delighted she is still able to work with the patient who introduced her to DMOs all those years ago.
